Connecting Agriculture and Clean Energy at the Eastern Agricultural Show
Agriculture | Clean Cooking | Renewable Energy | Community Engagement
Detra Energy participated in the 5th Eastern Agricultural Show in Soroti City, bringing clean cooking and renewable energy solutions closer to farmers, businesses, households and agricultural stakeholders across Eastern Uganda. Held at the Soroti Museum from 21–24 March 2026, the agricultural show provided a platform for farmers, innovators, businesses and development stakeholders to exchange knowledge and explore technologies supporting productivity and sustainable development.
Clean Energy for Agricultural Communities
Agriculture and energy are closely connected. Households and businesses within agricultural communities depend on reliable energy for cooking, processing, transportation, enterprise and everyday activities. At the Eastern Agricultural Show, Detra Energy showcased clean cooking technologies and engaged visitors on the role that improved energy solutions can play in supporting more efficient households and businesses.
Demonstrating Subsidised Clean Cooking Technologies
Detra Energy showcased selected ECOA Char Stove models available under the UECCC Price Subsidy Programme.
Visitors had the opportunity to learn about:
Ecoa Char Classic – Black
Ecoa Char Classic – Silver
Ecoa Char Plus
The team explained how improved cooking technologies can help reduce charcoal consumption, minimise smoke and provide more efficient cooking. Other Detra Energy solutions were also showcased, giving visitors a broader understanding of the company's renewable energy portfolio.

Bringing Innovation Closer to Farmers
Agricultural shows are important because they take innovation directly to the communities that can benefit from it. For Detra Energy, participation is part of our commitment to ensuring that clean energy is included in conversations around agricultural productivity, household resilience and community development.
Appreciation to Our Partners and Participants
