Detra Energy Brings Clean Cooking Solutions to Mukono Town Council
Community Engagement | Clean Cooking | Renewable Energy
Detra Energy continued its community clean energy outreach with an activation at the Mukono Town Council Headquarters, engaging residents, local stakeholders and members of the wider community on practical clean cooking solutions.
The engagement provided an opportunity for visitors to interact directly with the Detra Energy team, explore improved cooking technologies and learn how cleaner energy choices can contribute to healthier homes and more efficient cooking.

Bringing Clean Cooking Closer to Communities
For many households, changing how they cook begins with having access to the right information and affordable alternatives.
At Mukono Town Council, Detra Energy showcased selected products from the ECOA Char Stove range, allowing visitors to see the technologies, ask questions and receive guidance from the team.
The showcase included the Ecoa Char Classic in Black and Silver, as well as the Ecoa Char Plus.
Selected products were available through the UECCC Price Subsidy Programme, providing eligible households with an opportunity to access clean cooking technologies at subsidized prices.
Why Improved Cooking Matters
Clean cooking is closely connected to household health, energy costs and environmental sustainability.
Improved cooking technologies can help households reduce charcoal consumption, reduce smoke in cooking spaces and improve cooking efficiency.
For Detra Energy, the goal is not simply to introduce another product into the market. It is to help households understand the choices available and make informed decisions about the energy technologies they use every day.
Partnership Supporting the Transition
Detra Energy's clean cooking outreach is part of a wider ecosystem of organisations working to accelerate Uganda's transition towards cleaner energy.
We acknowledge the contribution of partners and sector stakeholders including GIZ Uganda, NREP, the Clean Cooking Unit, Ministry of Energy & Mineral Development, ICLEI and UNACC.
Through these relationships, opportunities are created for awareness, demonstrations, community engagement and greater access to clean cooking technologies.
Continuing Our Community Presence
The Mukono Town Council activation is part of Detra Energy's growing footprint across Uganda.
We continue to take clean energy solutions to markets, agricultural shows, institutions, community events and public spaces because we believe that access begins with engagement.
The more communities can see, understand and discuss clean energy technologies, the easier it becomes to make the transition from awareness to adoption.
