Community Outreach | Clean Cooking | Affordable Energy

Detra Energy continued its community clean energy outreach through the CBS Busiro Pewosa SACCO Drive along Entebbe Road, engaging households, entrepreneurs and members of the wider community on practical clean cooking solutions.

The activation provided an opportunity for people to interact directly with the Detra Energy team and learn how improved cooking technologies can help reduce fuel consumption, improve cooking efficiency and create cleaner kitchen environments.

Taking Clean Cooking Closer to Households

One of the key objectives of Detra Energy's community engagements is to ensure that information about clean energy solutions reaches people where they live, work and conduct their daily activities.

Through demonstrations and direct conversations, the team introduced visitors to the ECOA Char Stove range and explained how improved cooking technologies can provide an alternative to conventional cooking methods.

Selected products were available under the UECCC Price Subsidy Programme, making clean cooking technologies more accessible to eligible households.

A Practical Approach to Energy Access

For many households, the decision to transition to cleaner cooking depends not only on the availability of technology but also on understanding how that technology works and whether it can meet their everyday needs.

The CBS Busiro Pewosa SACCO engagement created space for those conversations.

Visitors were able to ask questions about:

  • Fuel efficiency

  • Cooking performance

  • Product options

  • Maintenance

  • Suitability for different household needs

  • The available subsidy programme

This direct engagement is an important part of Detra Energy's approach to community energy education.

Partnerships Driving Greater Access

Detra Energy's clean cooking outreach is strengthened through collaboration with organisations across Uganda's renewable energy and clean cooking ecosystem.

We appreciate the work of GIZ Uganda, NREP, the Clean Cooking Unit, Ministry of Energy & Mineral Development, ICLEI and UNACC in supporting awareness and advancement of clean cooking solutions.

Through these relationships, opportunities are created for clean energy companies and communities to connect, exchange information and explore practical solutions.

Building a Cleaner Energy Future

The CBS Busiro Pewosa SACCO Drive forms part of Detra Energy's growing community footprint.

We continue to believe that Uganda's clean energy transition requires solutions that are not only innovative but also accessible, understandable and relevant to communities.

Our goal is simple: bring cleaner energy closer to more people.
