Detra Energy Brings Clean Energy Innovation to the Northern Uganda Agricultural Trade Show
Detra Energy participated in the 5th Edition of the Northern Uganda Agricultural Trade Show, held at Kaunda Grounds in Gulu City from 26–30 March 2026.
The event brought together farmers, agribusinesses, innovators, agricultural experts, consumers and other stakeholders under the theme:
“Unlocking Opportunity for a Sustainable Future”
For Detra Energy, the theme closely aligns with our commitment to developing practical renewable energy and environmental solutions that support sustainable communities.
Connecting Energy with Agricultural Development
Agricultural communities require more than agricultural inputs.
They also need efficient energy solutions that can support households, businesses and institutions.
At the trade show, Detra Energy showcased clean cooking technologies and engaged visitors on how improved energy solutions can contribute to more efficient household and commercial cooking.
Clean Cooking Solutions on Display
Visitors interacted with selected ECOA Char Stove models and learned about the UECCC Price Subsidy Programme. The showcase included:
Ecoa Char Classic – Black.
Ecoa Char Classic – Silver.
Ecoa Char Plus
The Detra Energy team was available throughout the engagement to answer questions and explain the benefits and applications of the different products.

Beyond Agriculture
The trade show demonstrated that innovation does not exist within one sector.
Clean energy, agriculture, entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability and technology are increasingly interconnected.
By participating in agricultural platforms, Detra Energy is helping ensure that renewable energy becomes part of the broader conversation around sustainable livelihoods and economic development.
Working with Partners
Our ability to reach communities is strengthened through collaboration with organisations across Uganda's clean energy ecosystem. We recognise the contribution of GIZ Uganda, NREP, the Clean Cooking Unit, Ministry of Energy & Mineral Development, ICLEI, UNACC and UECCC, among other sector stakeholders.
Looking Ahead
Detra Energy remains committed to taking renewable energy solutions beyond traditional markets and into communities across Uganda. Our participation in Gulu is another example of our belief that: A sustainable future requires accessible technology, informed communities and strong partnerships.
