Detra Energy Engages Reproductive Health Uganda on Clean Energy Solutions

Institutional Engagement | Clean Cooking | Renewable Energy

Detra Energy continued its renewable energy outreach through an engagement with Reproductive Health Uganda (RHU), creating an opportunity to introduce clean cooking technologies and discuss the importance of sustainable energy within communities and institutions. The engagement formed part of Detra Energy's broader commitment to making renewable energy solutions more visible, accessible and relevant to different sections of Ugandan society.

Connecting Clean Energy with Community Wellbeing

Energy is closely connected to the wellbeing of communities.

The way households and institutions cook can influence fuel expenditure, indoor air quality, environmental sustainability and everyday convenience.

During the RHU engagement, the Detra Energy team showcased clean cooking solutions and engaged participants on the practical benefits of adopting improved technologies.

The team was available to answer questions, explain product options and demonstrate how clean cooking solutions can be incorporated into everyday life.

More Than a Product Demonstration

For Detra Energy, community engagement is about more than displaying products.

It is about creating conversations around:

• Cleaner cooking environments

• Efficient energy use

• Reduced reliance on traditional cooking fuels

• Sustainable household practices

• Affordable renewable energy alternatives

• The role of communities in Uganda's energy transition

These conversations are important in helping people move from simply hearing about clean energy to understanding how it can work for them.

Partnerships Expanding Our Reach

Our ability to reach different communities and institutions is strengthened by collaboration. Detra Energy works alongside stakeholders and partners across Uganda's renewable energy and clean cooking ecosystem, including SNV, GIZ Uganda, ICLEI, NREP, the Ministry of Energy & Mineral Development, UNACC and UECCC. Through these relationships, we are able to participate in platforms that support awareness, demonstrations, education and access to clean energy solutions.

Continuing the Journey

The RHU engagement is part of Detra Energy's growing community and institutional footprint. From public institutions and schools to markets, agricultural shows and community gatherings, we continue to take clean energy conversations closer to the people. A cleaner energy future starts with informed communities.
