Detra Energy Takes Clean Energy Solutions to St. Stephen's Church Kisugu

Community Engagement | Clean Cooking | Partnerships

Detra Energy joined the community at St. Stephen's Church Kisugu, bringing clean cooking solutions and renewable energy awareness closer to members of the church and wider community. The engagement also formed part of a significant occasion for the Church of Uganda, as Venerable Emmanuel Kalagala was inducted as Archdeacon by the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, His Grace Samuel Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu.

Clean Energy in Community Spaces

Community gatherings provide a powerful platform for sharing information that can improve everyday life. During the engagement, Detra Energy showcased clean cooking solutions and interacted with community members about the importance of cleaner, more efficient energy use. Visitors were able to ask questions, explore available technologies and learn more about how improved cooking can contribute to healthier and more sustainable communities.

Reaching Communities Through Partnerships

Detra Energy's community presence is made possible through collaboration.

We were pleased to participate alongside other partners and stakeholders working to support communities and promote sustainable development. Our wider clean energy work is strengthened through relationships with GIZ Uganda, NREP, the Clean Cooking Unit, Ministry of Energy & Mineral Development, ICLEI, UNACC, UECCC and other partners.

Clean Cooking as a Community Issue

Clean cooking is not simply an energy-sector issue.

It intersects with household expenditure, health, environmental sustainability, livelihoods and quality of life. That is why Detra Energy continues to take clean cooking conversations into different community spaces including churches, schools, markets, public institutions and community events.

Continuing to Serve Communities

We appreciate St. Stephen's Church Kisugu, the Church of Uganda, our partners and everyone who interacted with the Detra Energy team during the engagement.

We remain committed to making clean energy solutions more visible, understandable and accessible across Uganda. Clean energy is a community conversation and Detra Energy is proud to be part of it.
