Community Outreach | Clean Cooking | Renewable Energyetra Ener engaged communities through an extended activation with the Kampala Capital Ci/ty /Auhority(KCCA), bringing clean cooking technologies and renewable energy information closer to Kampala residents.

The activation provided a platform for the Detra Energy team to demonstrate products, answer questions and help visitors understand the practical benefits of cleaner cooking.

Creating Space for Clean Energy Conversations

The transition to clean cooking requires continued engagement.

At KCCA, visitors were able to interact directly with the Detra Energy team and learn about available cooking technologies, their applications and the benefits of moving away from less efficient cooking methods.

The team was available throughout the activation period to provide information and answer questions from community members.

Clean Cooking and Healthier Communities

Clean cooking contributes to more than energy efficiency.

Improved cooking technologies can help reduce smoke exposure, improve kitchen environments and reduce the amount of traditional biomass required for cooking.

By bringing these conversations into community spaces, Detra Energy is helping make clean energy more visible and easier to understand.

Supporting Uganda's Clean Energy Transition

Detra Energy's work is strengthened by a network of partners and stakeholders working to increase access to sustainable energy.

Our engagement across communities is supported by relationships with organisations including GIZ Uganda, NREP, the Clean Cooking Unit, Ministry of Energy & Mineral Development, ICLEI and UNACC.

Together, these stakeholders contribute to a growing ecosystem supporting clean cooking awareness and adoption.

From Awareness to Adoption

A successful energy transition depends on people being able to access reliable information and practical solutions.

Our KCCA engagement is part of a wider Detra Energy strategy to meet people where they are at public institutions, markets, community events, exhibitions and other gathering points.

Every question answered and every demonstration conducted contributes to greater awareness of the clean energy choices available to Ugandan communities.
